Jerrod was loved by so many people across many nations for his kindness, openness, goofiness, and reluctance to change things if they weren't broke. These are qualities that made him endearing, steadfast, dependable, and reliable.
Not to mention... he gave hugs that you could just melt into. For a few moments during those hugs, the world didn't exist.
In streams, he used his “husbandly insight” to have fun with people and break the stream bot. So in growing the online community, I asked them to share what they’ll remember about Jerrod, aka “Leo”.
First off, I struggle with anxiety and depression. One day not long ago Leo came into my stream and cheered me up when I had an anxiety attack. He had no idea how much he cheered me up that day. -Gooorooo
for such a sweet, sweet guy, Leo can be an absolute stubborn ass when he sets his mind to it. -Tom
Many late nights early mornings he was good company to me, always had something insightful to say about some of the conversation about life, and Outlook. Knew always how to lighten the mood when it got too heavy. He brought me back from many dark thoughts and tirades. He was there when I needed him and always says some goofy shit to make me smile. -Matticus
I remember one of the first times seeing Leo in my chat years ago. Before he changed his username. Leodamnuts. I thought he was a troll with that username. He wasn't. I learned he was a wonderful, caring human. -Crispy

I enjoyed watching all the streams, and the relaxed attitude with a warm welcome one would always get when saying hello. It's an attitude the gaming world needs, and I will always uphold this with Leo in my mind. -Redthorne
The one good times I remember was with Eralm hanging out in the voice comms in the Pilots lounge and we had this major discussion about the military life. When she mentioned about her and Leo being on two sides of the coin of the marines and navy but somehow ended up together the rest of group was curious how that worked out. That is when Leo was encouraged into the conversation.
We had some good laughs for a friday night to a point where we lost track of time. Even though I only got to know him through discord and some of his streams he was always super friendly and encouraging others to try out new things. I always want to meet the amazing people in IRL one of these days and Leo was on that list.

When I first returned to streaming in 2019 after having last streamed in 2017, Leo was always present in chat. Hell, for a couple of streams I had thought he left the tab open or something. When he changed his name from "Leodamnuts" to Leo McTwiggy, I would be stoked to see him in chat just so I could say "McTWIGGY!!!!!!" which essentially became the way I just greeted him. No matter what he was dealing with or how he felt he was always committed to making someone else happy if they were down. -SmileyDank
No matter how I felt, Leo could always bring a smile to my face and a bunch of laughter to my day. You will be sorely missed my friend. -baddog928
My main memory of Leo is the the fact that he was almost always there in the background while @Eralm_237 was streaming and having fun with her audience. -CMDR Prins Hugo
Leo is many things, a husband, a father, a veteran, a friend, and more. While I might have only known Leo and Eralm for less than two years, it seems so much longer (in a good way)!
I remember Leo's sighs as we, yet again, spawned another coyote, vulture, etc. for him in 7D2D
I remember Leo's determination to complete the random and ridiculous challenges we would give him in SnowRunner and him also being a founder member of the SnowRunner 'poor life choices' club
I remember Leo always being warm and welcoming to new, and returning, people in his streams
I remember the shenanigans while doing CG hauling with Leo, Kynn, and Eralm in Elite Dangerous
I remember the good times we had in various games

The Cat Story
Sasha - our first cat - was supposed to be my cat, as we got her while I was pregnant with Kaida. Nope, she became Kaida’s cat. No matter how much fur was ripped out, or how much kibble was thrown across the floor - or eaten by Kaida - Sasha didn’t care. Fast forward a few years and my phone rings. It’s Jerrod. At work.
“Honey, what do you think about getting another cat?”
“I mean, I’m not against it, do you want to start looking for one?”
“No, today, get another cat.”
“This is kind of sudden…” then my phone alerts me I have a text message. Nope. not a text message. It’s an image of a small black kitten. In the guard shack. With Jerrod. At work. “What are you thinking?”
“Animal control was going to take it. He’s too cute!”
“Wait, you’re telling me, my “I’m a dog-person-husband”... wants to bring home a cat?”
“I’ll take care of him.” Jerrod pauses. “He won’t leave my vest. He’s so scared. He also ate some of my lunch.” Guess who came home. With worms, and fleas, and litter box trained. And now has some grey hairs.
Once Jerrod got an idea of what he wanted to do, he’d do it, eventually, maybe, if the weather was good, and he didn’t have to work. He knew how to bring a smile to someone’s face, or to really piss them off - mainly at work.
Lessons Learned
One thing this has shown me is the need to be detailed with your partner (or trusted family/friend) with literally your whole life. This list does not contain everything, but contains a good start:
- 📜 What is in, and where, is your living will?
- 💻 Internet/Social media contacts: who, where, and how.
- 💻 Work contacts: boss/co-workers/emergency contact lines
- 💻 How to unlock your phone/computer/etc.
- 💻 What projects are being worked on? With who?
- 💻 Who needs notified?
- 💻 Where is your 2FA? Is it set up?
- 💻 (US people) What are your insurance policy numbers and contacts?
- 💸 Disability/Compensation/Stipends/Retirements/pensions/etc.
- 💸 How do bills get paid? (due dates, amounts, logins)
- 💸 Life insurance policies, numbers, company, values, point of contact
- 💸 Add partner on your bills/utilities even if they don't do anything
- 💸 Loans, payments, and outstanding debts (credit cards, car loans, house loans, etc)
- 💸 Safe deposit boxes/safes/secured locations and accessibility
- ⚕️ Medical procedures you're ok with (blood donations/amputations/implants, etc)
- ⚕️ Resuscitation efforts? Yes/No/Condition-pendant?
- ⚕️ Organ donations after death (ok or not ok?)
- ⚕️ Medical procedures/allergies/special conditions
- ⚕️ Where are your medical files located?
- ⚕️ Name your physician and contact number.
- 🐱 Your pet names, dietary needs, and veterinary points of contact
- 🐱 What happens to your pet if you're single and incapacitated or die?
- 🧒 (if kids) What is their school number? Doctor's number? Allergies? Special medical/mental needs?
- 🧒 (if kids) What happens to your children if both of you are incapacitated?
- ➡️ funeral arrangements
- ➡️ comatose/vegetative state care vs expected recoveries/quality of life
- ➡️ Who do you want to make medical/financial decisions on your behalf?
