Leo FAQ

TL;DR:

Leo was in an accident on his bicycle on the way home from work. He was airlifted out (~1.5hr away), and was put in a medically induced coma due to severe brain swelling and trauma.

Do we know what happened?

Not exactly. There are conflicting reports as to how he was found to what happened. All we know is he was severely injured, and Eralm is agreeing with the medical staff in thinking "it doesn't matter at this time."

Will the Veterans Affairs pay for it?

The VA has stated they will pay for the hospital stay. Unknown about helicopter or ambulance ride.

How are you doing?

Family is doing as good as can be in the situation. Eralm promises she is eating and showering.

What can I do to help?

Honestly the immense amount of support you all have shown is welcome. The new GoFundMe is open for continual support.

Where can I get updates?

There is an announcement channel on Leo & Eralm's discord (Shooting Leaf) where Eralm will post. If you are currently a member of another Discord, and one of the moderators there is on Shooting Leaf, you can ask that moderator if they will be getting the updates.

I heard about a shirt?

Yes, in the spirit of the community, there is an “Aggressively Helpful” themed shirt and beanie , both with ~$0.80usd profit per item. (Because so many of you have already donated for medical bills).

Who served in the military?

Leo served in the US Navy, Eralm served in the US Marine Corps.

What's Leo's story?

There once was a guy. Goofy looking. Blonde buzz cut. Blue utility navy uniform.

There was also this girl, with a walking boot and crutches. Both were standing in formations ready for names to be called for the next class for technical training.

Both names were called.

Classes came and went. On a rainy April day under a now-removed pavilion on an abandoned section of Naval Air Station Pensacola, a wedding proposal was made. Both departed: one going east, one going west.

They waited six months for a wedding. The engagement was a test to see if the relationship remained strong through distance and time.

"Aggressively Helpful" Merch

The original "Operation Support Eram & Leo" support campaign coined the phrase "Aggressively Helpful", which yielded a beanie, shirt, and a sticker:

Leo's Merch

...is still on the family storefront for the original price he picked.
